Harassment by creditors has totally stopped all thanks to Mervin and his team! Never thought that it would be possible as i have been threatened by my creditors and their debt collectors for the longest time already. They have threatened to go to my workplace and make me lose my job, and one of the creditors even ask me to go and die. It was very stressful and depressing but i was still unable meet their expectations as their accrued interest is just too much for me to keep up with. I am so grateful for the assistance which Mervin and his team has rendered to me. I only wish i have met you guys earlier to be educated on my rights and what the types of unlawful violations are. I have received an official apology email from one of the creditors already and i have decided not to pursue the matter. Thank you so much for handling my case and taking care of me and my family.

Shahrul J. ✅ January 30, 2022[ Debt Relief MLaw replied ] : Thank you for your kind feedback Shahrul. There is no need for the apology as we are here to help you overcome this together. Remember that no matter how stressed you are, always think about your wife and children, and how any of your decisions will impact their lives. Your family needs you, please be there for them like how they have always been there for you. If you need someone to talk to, feel free reach out to your case manager or any of us. Take care!
I only wish I have met this firm and know about the Debt Repayment Scheme earlier. Before i met them, i approached Credit Counselling Singapore for help and was advised to go back with my bank to apply for a debt consolidation program where i was then told by the bank that i cannot opt out from holding on to a credit card. I said that i do not want the credit card but was told by the bank to just leave it aside if i do not intend to use it. Isnt it ironic? Giving a credit facility to someone who has already made it clear that i just want to clear my debt and i am facing issues with managing my finances, and then telling me not to use it? Anyways, Mervin, my case manager explains to me how the DRS work and even referred me to seek therapy for my addiction towards gambling. I feel safer where i am now and have turn my focus to more meaningful activities. I can feel the positive change in me and my family's attitude towards me. DRML changed my life, and i am forever grateful!
Lee JT. ✅ December 2, 2021 [ Debt Relief MLaw replied ] : Mr Lee, thank you for your positive review on our services. However, i wish to remind you that whenever you hold on to a credit facility, the onus is on you to use it responsibly. I trust that you have taken all of these as a learning curve to take responsibility for your own actions and not blame others for your failures. I am also happy to hear that we have created a positive impact in your life and improved your relationship with your family. We wish you all the best in your journey towards a debt-free life!
ALERT: LONG POST OF GRATITUDE AHEAD! Firstly, thanks a million to the team at Debt Relief Mlaw for assisting me with my case, especially to Mr Mervin Law. I was a victim of a bad business partnership where my business partner absconded with company funds and I had to take out loans and credit facilities from the banks under my name to help clear off a huge part of the debt incurred by my ex-business partner. I was living in negative every month after making minimum repayments to banks, and is also a constant subject to harassment by a contractor and his debt collectors whom my ex-business partner had previously dealt with. Prior to meeting the team at Debt Relief Mlaw, I had also been served with a Writ of Summons by the contractor and I had planned to simply ignore it as I was already prepared to head down the route of bankruptcy. However, my nephew referred me to Mr Mervin where he reviewed all the SMS and Whatsapp exchanges between myself and the contractor, and told me that none of those private correspondence will hold up as evidence in court. Under his advice, I entered into an appearance to address the Writ of Summons to defend my case and just as Mr Mervin had said it, the contractor's claim for debt was unsuccessfully disputed in court due to lack of evidence. Mr Mervin told me to work towards being placed on the Debt Repayment Scheme to avoid bankruptcy and that I need not declare the debt amount owed to contractor by my ex-business partner in my statement of affairs and during my commissioning for oath. Nevertheless, the contractor approached the debt collectors and they were more than glad to demand payment from me despite the lack of evidence of debt. Police reports were also produced to prove my non-involvement with the incurred debt but the aggressive harassment from the debt collectors did not stop. The debt collectors even dressed up in dark blue uniforms with logos similar to government officials when coming up to my place of residence and went to the extent of digging into my brother's social media to blackmail him. I find it unbelievable that within less than a week after Mr Mervin and his team stepped in to manage the debt collectors, they went totally silent from there on. I am now 7 months into my Debt Repayment Scheme and I am writing this review as a token of appreciation to the team at Debt Relief Mlaw. I wish your team only the best and words alone cannot describe how grateful I am towards you all. May God bless you in this journey on helping good people through bad times!
Ong CT. ✅ October 13, 2021 [ Debt Relief MLaw replied ] : Hi Mr. Ong, this is Mervin Law from the firm. Wow! Thank you for such a detailed review. We certainly did not see this coming and on behalf of the whole team, i would like to thank you for your extremely positive feedback. I am glad that our paths had crossed and that i am able help you regain control of your life and finances. I hope that the debt collectors had not contacted you since, but if they do, feel free to reach out to me again and i will keep them in check. As mentioned before, do bear in mind that just because an individual wears a uniform and logo that sport colours and similarities to that of government officials, does not in anyway dictate their level of professionalism. As with the case of your debt collectors, they were definitely not in a position , nor adequately trained to judge whether or not evidences presented by their client to be sufficient to warrant debt collection. Having said that, i too wish you all the best in all of your future endeavours and certainly look forward to the day you become debt-free! God Speed!
Big THANK YOU to the team at DRML for taking on my case. I am so relieved that i do not have to go through bankruptcy and still continue to hold my role in the financial sector. The amount that i used to pay my banks in total every month will never be enough to clear my debt. The total outstanding balance barely went down and even increase on some months despite me do monthly payments to all my banks. What i am paying now through my debt repayment scheme is so much lower then what i used to pay and i can start afresh with no debt in less than 5 years without losing my job. I will use this opportunity to manage my finances better and switch my lifestyle for the better.
Patricia L. ✅ July 6, 2021 [ Debt Relief MLaw replied ] : Hi Ms Patricia, thank you for trusting us with your case. We are happy to know that you are doing well now and look forward to the day you complete your debt repayment scheme!
Waste my time meeting them. They turn me away just because im not employed and dont have any income. I am in debt in the first place because i lost my job. You are suppose to provide assistance to help people in debt but you are not even understanding enough that i dont have a job now. How to clear my debt if i have no income?
Helen T. ✅ April 17, 2021 [ Debt Relief MLaw replied ] : Hi Helen, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you felt you have wasted your time in coming to meet us. The sit-in was arranged for you because you have specifically mentioned that you are employed when you submitted the online form to us and also, when our case manager contacted you by phone. We encourage our applicants to be truthful when filling up the application form and when communicating with our case managers as we cannot be responsible for any inaccuracies in any information provided by you to us. Had we known that you are not employed, we would never have arranged that sit-in for you as you definitely will not qualify for any type of debt relief or repayment program at all. To manage the expectations of our applicants, we ensure that it is made known to all before meeting us, that the applicant must be gainfully employed to qualify for any type of debt repayment program. Also, we want you to understand that no matter the amount of grace, goodwill or flexibility given to you by your creditors, you are still required to take some form of responsibility for your debt regardless of which program you eventually embark on. Hence, it is simply impossible to put you on any program at all if you choose to remain unemployed as that would only indicate that you have no intention to take any responsibility for any part of your debt at all, and hence do not possess the ability to sustain any form of debt repayment plan. We wish you all the best in seeking employment soon, and you are most welcome to reach out to us for assistance again when you are ready. Thank you.
Thank you Debt Relief MLaw Singapore! Finally weight off my shoulder! Shout out to Paul Lim, thank you very much for your patience and assistance!

Faiz S. ✅ January 7, 2021[ Debt Relief MLaw replied ] : Thank you for your kind feedback Faiz S. We are glad to be of assistance!
Paul Lim, the senior case manager is the greatest! I came in late in the evening and he stayed and listened to my concerns & made excellent recommendations. Paul treated me like family, worked with me to put a plan in action and helped me out of a very difficult situation with my moneylender creditors all in a 2 week turnaround time period. I would recommend Paul and their team to family and friends, because that's how they treat you... like family.
Vinoth B. ✅ December 19, 2020 [ Debt Relief MLaw replied ] : Thank you for your kind words Vinoth B. We are really glad to hear about your experience with our case manager, Mr Paul Lim. Be rest assured that we have sent your regards and your words of appreciation to him. Thank you once again for trusting us!
I appreciate that your team provides unbiased advice but maybe you should also listen to what your client wants. Your case manager suggested putting me through with CCS and for me to take up some credit management session with them when i have told him time and again that i had already enquired with my bank on the debt consolidation plan. Going through CCS will eventually lead me back to one of their debt settlement options, possibly DCP again. I have an outstanding education loan which i am unable to include into DCP and also, i am hoping to go with the debt repayment scheme program with Ministry of Law because i do not wish to be charged with anymore interest or other fees, and also do not want to pay off my debts over 8 years, as with what's being proposed to me by my bank. Your case manager said that to qualify for DRS, my debt amount shouldn't be exceeding $150,000. My debt size is below that amount, why should he advise me against DRS?
Augustine K. ✅ November 22, 2020 [ Debt Relief MLaw replied ] : Hi Augustine, thank you for your feedback. We had clarified with Paul, your case manager and had ascertained that he had indeed referred you to CCS. From what we had understood, he did not explicitly advise you against DRS but rather, pointed you in the direction of CCS mainly because you had raised the intention to continue to hold on to your credit facilities, and also, have plans on getting a renovation loan with your bank the following year. We are sorry that you felt we weren't listening but we believed Paul had pointed you towards CCS because he had heard you, and felt that you were not particularly keen on fulfilling the statutory duties as a debtor for placement on DRS. However, if you have decided to re-adjust your lifestyle and wish to put a stop to incurring further liabilities, we will be more than glad to assist you to the best of our ability. Thank you.
Mervin has been our company’s corporate advisor for a couple of years now. A literacy coach by profession and an entrepreneur at heart! He and his team is very dedicated and is always listening. They’re always there for us whenever we need a quick advice and still delivers despite the demanding timelines. Would definitely recommend them!
Keith L. ✅ November 3, 2020 [ Debt Relief MLaw replied ] : Thank you for kind words Keith, and thank you for entrusting us with your team. We are glad to be of assistance.
The process has been easy, the site is organized, and when I called to set everything up, the person helping me was BEYOND helpful, knowledgeable, and helpful.
Syarif H. ✅ October 19, 2020 [ Debt Relief MLaw replied ] : Thank you for the kind feedback Syarif H. It was a pleasure to help set up your debt relief plan and we wish you all the best in restarting your life, debt-free!
Its not free. On their website, they state that there is no upfront cost but you have to pay the petition fee which is around $2k. Even with the assistance grant, i still have to pay over a thousand dollars. Are these not costs? Dont make promise you can't keep.
Jathees T. ✅ October 15, 2020 [ Debt Relief MLaw replied ] : Hi Jathees, thank you for your feedback. We understand your frustrations over the fees which you have to bear when opting for the Debt Repayment Scheme and we are sorry that we could only assist you with the application of the CSR assistance grant to have the total fees subsidized. Kindly allow us to clarify once again that there is indeed no upfront cost for a case manager to be assigned to you and we seek your kind understanding that the '$2k plus in petition fee' which you have mentioned is payable fully to Ministry of Law, not to us. Our team has also advised you on other available options which you may consider besides the Debt Repayment Scheme, where there are no costs involved.. We hope this clarifies and certainly look forward to helping you move forward from your current situation to eventually being free from debt soon.
To apply for the debt repayment scheme, you need to pay a petition deposit to Ministry Of Law which is about $2000 already. How you expect me to pay when i am already in debt? Ministry of Law should look at the financial situation of the person and help them out or offer us complimentry service. Imagine i cannot afford to pay my moneylenders $50 now, how can i afford 2k to pay the petition.
Hafiz J. ✅ October 4, 2020 [ Debt Relief MLaw replied ] : Hi Hafiz J, thank you for your feedback. We are working with all possible avenues to see how we can better assist our clients with their legal fees. As of now, we have only the CSR assistance grant where applicants are eligible for a one-off subsidy of $500. We hope the CSR grant will be able to take some load off your shoulder and help you move forward with the Debt Repayment Scheme. Do reach out to us again when you need further assistance, we will be glad to help you to the best of our ability. Thank you.
